Largo FD – [LXT] USA

The LXT extrication team from Largo Fire Rescue is dedicated to sharing knowledge and teaching street-based vehicle extrication techniques across the state, nation, and now the world. Built on passion, hard work, and a competitive spirit, the team brings together firefighters ranging from three to 21 years of fire service experience. Through training, competition, and real-world experience, LXT continues to grow and evolve while representing the City of Largo on the international stage. The team is excited to bring its commitment, pride, and relentless work ethic to Rio and once again showcase its abilities on the world stage.

Palm Beach County – [Punishers] USA

The PUNISHERS Extrication Team was established in 2018, continuing a long tradition of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue extrication teams that dates back to 1984. Built on professionalism, teamwork, and dedication to the fire service, we are proud to represent Palm Beach County Fire Rescue ,the United States, and NAVRA, while competing on the world stage.

Beyond competition, our mission is to better serve our community by bringing back the knowledge, techniques, and lessons learned from competitions and sharing them with our department and surrounding agencies to help strengthen rescue operations throughout our area.

Miami Dade FD – Blackhearts – USA

The Blackheart Extrication Team, established in 2011, has been on a relentless pursuit of excellence. By sharing knowledge gained from years in junkyards and global competitions, such as NAVRA and the WRO, they’ve been able to refine their skills. The team underwent a significant transformation less than a year ago, welcoming new members. Based out of Miami Dade Fire Rescue, the team is comprised of:

Burlington FD – Canada

Burlington Vehicle Rescue Team is proud to return to the World Rescue Challenge, having last competed in the Azores in 2024. Representing the City of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, this year’s team is largely composed of members attending their first WRC — a junior squad eager to test their skills on the world stage. While they may be new to the international competition environment, they bring with them the dedication and drive that defines Burlington Fire Department. The team looks forward to competing alongside the best rescue teams from across the globe, and to bringing home the knowledge, techniques, and inspiration that will elevate the level of service they provide to their community.

Mures Extrication team – Romania

The Mureș Extrication Team was established in 2013, driven by the desire to achieve excellence in the field of rescue and extrication operations.
Over the years, our team has participated in 12 national competitions, winning no fewer than 8 national champion titles of Romania. These results reflect the professionalism, dedication, and team spirit that define us.
On the international stage, we have taken part in 8 world championships, where we proudly represented Romania, achieving very good results and strengthening our place among the top teams in the world.
We are honored to stand among the best teams globally, in an environment where the exchange of experience and continuous learning are essential. Each participation gives us the opportunity to share knowledge and learn new things from competitors all over the world.
We look confidently toward the future and are determined to perform at the highest level at the competition in Brazil. We aim to return not only with strong results, but also with valuable experience and knowledge, which we will share with our colleagues back home.
This is our mission: to continuously improve and to contribute to saving lives through excellence, professionalism, and collaboration.

GRAT – Traffic Accident Rescue Group | Bombers de la Generalitat de Catalunya – Spain

The GRAT (Traffic Accident Rescue Group) is formed by members from different fire stations of the Bombers de la Generalitat de Catalunya, all of them professionals involved in training and specialising in road traffic accident rescue at the Catalan Firefighters School.

With more than fifteen years of experience taking part in vehicle extrication competitions, the members of GRAT combine the knowledge gained from real emergency situations with a constant commitment to training, technical improvement and continuous learning. Their goal is not only to compete, but also to keep evolving as rescuers in order to provide an increasingly effective and safer response to the community.

For the second consecutive year, the team takes on the challenge of representing Bombers de la Generalitat at the World Rescue Challenge, following their participation in Croatia, and with their sights set on WRC2026 in Brazil.

GRAT arrives at this international event as the current Spanish Road Traffic Accident Rescue Champions, a title they also achieved in the previous edition, demonstrating their commitment, preparation and teamwork.

Beyond the results, GRAT is built on a strong personal bond between its members. They are a group of professionals who share friendship, a passion for rescue, and the motivation to train together and become better every day. Every training session, every scenario and every competition represent an opportunity to learn, share knowledge and transfer that experience into their daily work during real emergency operations.

GRAT’s commitment is to continue growing as a team, improving rescue techniques and sharing all the knowledge gained in order to help save lives and provide the best possible service to society.

GROS – Bombers de la Generalitat de Catalunya, Spain

GROS is the vehicle extrication team from Parc de Bombers GROS Cerdanyola, part of the Bombers de la Generalitat de Catalunya. We are incredibly proud to represent our fire service and our country as we compete for the first time at the World Rescue Challenge in vehicle extrication.

Although this is our debut in the Extrication Challenge, our team has previously competed at the World Rescue Challenge in Trauma, bringing valuable international experience. Gros Rescat is made up of highly experienced firefighters who share a passion for technical rescue, continuous learning, and teamwork.

We are excited to challenge ourselves alongside some of the world’s best rescue teams, to exchange knowledge and techniques, and above all, to enjoy this unforgettable experience. Representing Catalonia and Spain on the world stage is a privilege, and we are ready to give our very best.

Covasna Trauma Team – România

    ,,Covasna Trauma Team has been competing in its current lineup since 2024 and consists of three paramedics: Georgy, Timi, and Mirel. Throughout the past three years, the team has continuously evolved through sustained effort, discipline, and continuous training in the field of qualified first aid.

     Together with the team’s coordinators and instructors, the three paramedics have built a journey based on trust, collaboration, and professionalism. Each stage of training has contributed to the development of a united team capable of facing the most complex challenges.

     In 2026, the team won first place in the Trauma event at the Romanian National Extrication and Trauma Challenge, an achievement that earned them qualification for the World Rescue Challenge. This success is the result of continuous effort, dedication, and the support provided by the coordinators and instructors who contributed to the team’s preparation.

     At the World Rescue Challenge in Brazil, Georgy, Timi, and Mirel proudly represent the “Mihai Viteazul” Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Covasna County, Romania, carrying forward the values of professionalism, responsibility, and teamwork.”

SDIS 78 – France

Sonia and Maxime are each a member of the two trauma teams of the Yvelines fire and rescue  (servicing the suburbs to the west of Paris). 

Sonia, our medic, is a professional nurse at the hospital of Reims, (the champagne capital)! She also works for the fire and rescue service for the Fire Department of the Yvelines.

She has earned the title of French champion 2025 in the trauma competition.

Maxime , our technician, is a firefighter in the Yvelines department as well.  As well.  This is Maxime’s first year on the trauma competition team. Showing great potential, he and his partner finished 5th place this year.

(The team we are sending are representing our full team and will be competing for the first time together demonstrating our spirit of unity).

Tamarac – RAC City EMS – USA

Tamarac Fire Rescue EMS Team, known as Rac City EMS, has been competing at a high level for more than a decade. The team consists of Capt. Mike Boyhan, Capt. Kingman Mais, Lt. Chris Curbelo, and DE Francois Avril, and participates in 7–10 EMS competitions annually. For the past three years, Tamarac’s EMS team has been ranked #1 in the State of Florida, reflecting its dedication to clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Rac City EMS is committed to providing the highest standard of prehospital care while promoting innovation, education, and advancement within the EMS profession.  

NZHM Grad Zagreb – Croatia

Nastavni Zavod za Hitnu Medicinu Grada Zagreba

We are Trauma Team Zagreb from Croatia, consisting of Iva, Lucija and Robert, emergency medical professionals from the Zagreb Institute of Emergency Medicine.

United by our passion for trauma and prehospital emergency care, we continuously train, learn and challenge ourselves to provide the best possible care for our patients. This year, we proudly achieved 1st place at the Croatia Rescue Challenge, a milestone that reflects our dedication, teamwork and commitment to excellence.

Cro Trauma Team is proud to represent Zagreb County Emergency Medical Service (Croatia) at the World Rescue Challenge 2025. Our team is made up of two trained and experienced professionals: 

  • Davorin Novosel, a medical technician specialized in emergency medicine 

  • Bruno Gross, a resident doctor currently training in emergency medicine 

We train rigorously throughout the year to sharpen our clinical expertise, technical precision, and seamless teamwork. Our participation in WRC reflects our commitment to improving patient outcomes through simulation, innovation, and international collaboration.

Miami Dade FD – Trauma team -USA

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) is one of the largest and most specialized fire-rescue departments in the United States, serving over 2.7 million residents across a diverse urban, suburban, and coastal environment. The department provides comprehensive emergency response capabilities, including ALS transport, air rescue operations, fireboats for marine response, Technical Rescue Teams (TRT), HAZMAT response, FLUSAR Task Force 1 and a dedicated Venom Response Team for exotic and venomous exposures unique to South Florida.

Our ALS Competition Team, composed of three competitors and one alternate, is selected from this high-performance system and reflects the depth of training, clinical excellence, and real-world experience found within MDFR. We represent a department built on innovation, adaptability, and excellence in high-acuity emergency care under extreme conditions.

Palm Beach County -Trauma Team USA
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue located in south Florida is home to one of the most specialized fire rescue agencies in the United States. Our response area is home to 1.6 million people and rapidly growing. Throughout our response area we cover everything from the beach and intercostal waterways, residential, commercial, industrial, military complexes, lake Okeechobee, the everglades. Our department features some of the most cutting-edge advances in fire rescue and Ems. We provide Advanced life support, fire suppression, hazmat, dive, special operations teams, our own USAR team, multiple medical air rescue helicopters(Trauma Hawk), airboats, jet skis, drone teams, we were one of the first in the country to offer prehospital whole blood and plasma interventions.
Our ALS teams is comprised of 7 members over two teams. Our teams have been competing for over a decade and quickly became one of the most successful teams in all of Florida on a consistent basis. Our teams have traveled throughout the USA and the world representing both the USA and our department. We draw from countless hours of practicing, clinical experience, real world experience from 911 calls, and mentor experience. We represent a department that’s aggressive, cutting edge, innovative, motivated, and driven to deliver acute high-performance interventions under any circumstances to the citizens and visitors of Palm Beach County.
Bucharest Trauma team – Romania

Bucharest Trauma Team is proud to represent Romania at the 2026 World Rescue Challenge in Rio de Janeiro.

This is our fifth appearance at the World Rescue Challenge. Over the years, we have been fortunate to achieve great success, winning the World Championship twice—including last year—and earning a second-place finish. These results make us proud, but they also motivate us to keep learning and improving.
Our team is made up of three dedicated members. Luci and Vali work together since 2009, and shared years of training, competitions, and experiences. Andrei is our newest teammate, joining us for his very first season, bringing fresh energy, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to learn.
Our coach is Ionuț, although everyone knows him by his nickname, “Mourinho.” His experience, guidance, and attention to detail have played a key role in shaping our team and helping us perform at the highest level.
Beyond the trophies and rankings, what truly brings us together is our passion for rescue and trauma care. We are committed to continuously improving our skills, learning from the best teams in the world, strengthening the friendship within our team, and building new friendships with colleagues from across the international rescue community.
   For us, the World Rescue Challenge is not only a competition—it is an opportunity to grow, to share knowledge, and to celebrate the values that unite all professional rescuers.

Graz Trauma team – Austria

At this year’s World Rescue Challenge in Rio de Janeiro, we are proud to represent Austrian Team “KAGes & Med Uni Graz” as part of the Austrian Rescue Organisation (ATRO).
Bernhard is a junior doctor and Jakob is a paramedic and medical student. Together, we share a passion for emergency medicine, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Participating in the World Rescue Challenge is a unique opportunity for us. We are grateful to learn from colleagues and experts from around the world, exchange experiences, and challenge ourselves to improve the care we provide to our patients every day.
Beyond the competition, we are looking forward to meeting new people, building friendships, and being part of a community that is dedicated to making a difference when it matters most.
