Trauma Team Junglinster Who are we? We are a trauma team from the east of Luxembourg, made up of: 👩‍🚒 Medic 1: Kelly Millim 👩‍🚒 Medic 2: Beatriz Santos Francisco We’re both volunteer firefighters, paramedics, and nurses by profession. Kelly has already participated in several World Rescue Challenges: 🇷🇴 Romania 2017 🇿🇦 Cape Town 2018 🇵🇹 Azores 2024 For Beatriz, this will be her first WRC — and we’re excited to take on this challenge together as a new team. 2025 marks our first year competing as a team, and we’re proud to have taken 1st place at the Luxembourg National Trauma Challenge! 🏆 We’re honored to be one of two teams representing Luxembourg at the World Rescue Challenge 2025 in Croatia 🇭🇷 We can’t wait to meet all of you and share this amazing experience! SDIS 78 – France

Sonia and Maxime are each a member of the two trauma teams of the Yvelines fire and rescue  (servicing the suburbs to the west of Paris). 

Sonia, our medic, is a professional nurse at the hospital of Reims, (the champagne capital)! She also works for the fire and rescue service for the Fire Department of the Yvelines.

She has earned the title of French champion 2025 in the trauma competition.

Maxime , our technician, is a firefighter in the Yvelines department as well.  As well.  This is Maxime’s first year on the trauma competition team. Showing great potential, he and his partner finished 5th place this year.

Ademir Aparecido de Campos Junior & Rodrigo Cândido Dias

Representing Brazil, this trauma team brings together the experience of two professionals with distinct yet complementary backgrounds, united by their commitment to pre-hospital emergency care.

Dr. Ademir Aparecido de Campos Junior is an emergency physician, born in Bragança Paulista and currently living in Piracaia, in the countryside of São Paulo. With over 17 years of experience in pre-hospital care, he has worked in several SAMU systems, including Campinas, Hortolândia, Sumaré, Bragança, and currently Limeira. He also works on the Fernão Dias and Rodoanel highways and serves as the Medical Director for Motiva RioSP, covering the Presidente Dutra and Rio-Santos highways. Ademir is an instructor of PHTLS (at the University of São Paulo) and ACLS (at the São Paulo Society of Cardiology). He is also a trauma and rescue competitor, having earned the Brazilian national runner-up title3rd place in the Latin American Trauma Challenge1st place in the Standard event, and the state champion title.

Rodrigo Cândido Dias, from Itaquera in São Paulo’s East Zone — the most populous urban region in Brazil — has over 20 years of experience in pre-hospital emergency care. A certified Firefighter since 2001 and a licensed Nurse Technician, he also holds a degree in Occupational Safety and is currently pursuing a Nursing degree. Rodrigo has worked in industrial settings at GM, Mercedes-Benz, and Ford, and has been a highway rescue technician since 2012. He has also served in SAMU São Paulo and SAMU São Bernardo do Campo, further strengthening his real-world emergency experience. Rodrigo is Brazilian national runner-up and 3rd place winner at the Latin American Trauma Challenge, recognized for his technical skill and calm presence during critical situations.

Together, this team brings the strength of São Paulo’s urban heart and the resilience of the countryside, sharing not only technical expertise but also the passion and spirit of Brazilian pre-hospital emergency care at the WRC in Croatia.

Iva, Lucija and Robert are dedicated professionals at the Teaching Institute for Emergency Medicine of the City of Zagreb. They are passionate about their work, especially when it comes to emergency interventions and trauma cases. Cro Trauma Team is proud to represent Zagreb County Emergency Medical Service (Croatia) at the World Rescue Challenge 2025. Our team is made up of two trained and experienced professionals: 

  • Davorin Novosel, a medical technician specialized in emergency medicine 

  • Bruno Gross, a resident doctor currently training in emergency medicine 

We train rigorously throughout the year to sharpen our clinical expertise, technical precision, and seamless teamwork. Our participation in WRC reflects our commitment to improving patient outcomes through simulation, innovation, and international collaboration.

We, Daniel Jakic and Thomas Mitterlehner, are full-time paramedics working in the emergency medical service at voestalpine Linz in Upper Austria. Voestalpine is a globally leading technology and steel company, known for developing innovative solutions in the steel industry.
This year marks our first participation in the World Rescue Challenge, and we are excited to represent Austria as the second trauma team at the competition in Croatia this September.

Blackheart Trauma team is made up of MDFR firefighters, with one of them on both the extrication and trauma teams. The Trauma team has been competing since 2016.

Palm Beach County -Trauma Team USA

Our team, Palm Beach Country Fire Rescue (PBCFR) is comprised of Florida natives—Alanna(right), Olivia(left), and Matt(middle)—who share a strong passion for Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Olivia is a Driver Operator, while Alanna and Matt are skilled Firefighter Paramedics. Together, we combine experience, teamwork, and enthusiasm to represent the best of what EMS professionals can offer. With only a year of competitive experience working together, we bring both camaraderie and commitment to everything we do. We all share the love of traveling and are extremely excited to be in Croatia to compete on the world stage.

The Advanced Life Support (ALS) Team from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue (BSO/Broward ALS) consists of five dedicated professionals who alternate and participate in rescue competitions throughout the year, demonstrating their expertise and teamwork on both state and national stages.

The Margate fire department ALS team consists of LT. Yoany Batista, FF Sierra Leon-Jarjoura, and FF Joseph Padilla. Lt. Batista and FF Leon-Jarjoura have been competing in competitions for roughly 8+years! We are thrilled to introduce our newest member to the team FF. Padilla who has been competing for just over a year! Super excited to compete as a team in Croatia!
South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue – Trauma Team -UK
Our Team consists of Alex (R) and Josh (L) who both serve on the same Watch in the City of Sheffield, Yorkshire, England
Our ‘day job’ consists of serving at a Heavy Rescue Station, covering the City of Sheffield and surrounding areas
The UK system is different to many other Countries, in that we are not ‘medics’ by trade. Our Primary role is to rescue and stabilise, before handing our casualties on to the Ambulance Service
We compete to improve our skill-set and have participated in Regional Challenges here in the UK
This is our first World Rescue Challenge, and we can’t wait!

At this year’s world rescue challenge we, Bernhard and Jakob, will be competing for Austrian Team KAGes & MedUni Graz.
Bernhard is a Junior Doctor and Jakob is a paramedic and med student.

Team Bio – Fire and Emergency New Zealand Trauma Team

Representing the lower South Island of New Zealand, the Fire and Emergency NZ Trauma Team is proud to make its debut at the World Rescue Challenge.
The team consists of Will Hall and Jody Williams, both members of Fire and Emergency New Zealand at Medical First Response (MEDFR) stations. Will is a former career firefighter who now volunteers at a MEDFR station, while working full-time as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) on a front-line ambulance. He is currently completing his studies to become a degree qualified paramedic. Jody serves as a first responder medic at a volunteer MEDFR station, bringing valuable on-the-ground experience and a strong clinical mindset to the team.
Together, they bring a blend of frontline ambulance care and fire-based medical response, with a shared passion for trauma care, learning, and improving outcomes for patients. Competing at the World Rescue Challenge is a chance to test their skills against international standards and bring those learnings back to benefit emergency services across New Zealand.

Praia Da Vitoria – Trauma Team – Portugal

The Trauma Team Praia da Vitória of the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Praia da Vitória, based on Terceira Island, Azores, is an elite unit specializing in trauma rescue. Composed of highly trained firefighters, the team has stood out both nationally and internationally for its technical competence, swift response, and outstanding performance under pressure.
Their successful journey began in 2015 at national championships, followed by their first participation in the World Championships in Brazil in 2016. In the following years, they cemented their reputation with a second-place finish at the 2018 World Championship in Cape Town, and a remarkable performance in 2019 in France, where both of the team’s squads ranked among the best in the world.
At the national level, the Trauma Team has earned numerous titles over the past 10 years, recently securing the title of two-time national champions in trauma in 2024, as a result of rigorous training and a strong commitment to specialized education.
With the goal of learning and developing new skills, the Trauma Team has consistently elevated the name of the Praia da Vitória Fire Department, promoting operational excellence among Portuguese firefighters and contributing to the prestige of Civil Protection in the Azores and throughout Portugal.
At the most recent national championship, the team announced that, after completing 10 years of achievements, it was time to step back and embrace new projects. Therefore, this year’s World Championship in Croatia will mark the final chapter of this remarkable team’s journey.

Dublin Civil Defence Trauma team- Ireland

Emily and Jen, dedicated volunteers from different Dublin Civil Defence units, bring together their expertise as both medics and rescue personnel. Combining their training and teamwork, they are ready to take on any trauma challenge — proudly representing Dublin Civil Defence and Team Ireland

Dublin Fire Brigade – Trauma team – Ireland

Representing Ireland and their capital city, Dublin Fire Brigade enters the Trauma Challenge in Croatia with a proud legacy of excellence in emergency medical care. As one of the only fully integrated Fire-EMS systems in Europe, Dublin Fire Brigade combines fire, rescue, and advanced paramedical expertise in a single unified service since 1898.
Each team member is a firefighter/ paramedic, trained to deliver the best for their patients often in complex, high-stake situations. The team competing in this year’s challenge bring a wealth of frontline experience, clinical and triage skills, honed through daily service provision in a fast-paced urban environment.
The team’s participation reflects DFBs commitment to clinical excellence, learning through shared experience and are proud to represent Ireland on the global stage.

Carlow FRS Trauma team – Ireland

Ronan Boyle and Daniel Fitzpatrick are two firefighters from Carlow with a shared passion for trauma care, teamwork, and representing their county (and country!) on the world stage. Together, they make up a skilled trauma team competing in this year’s World Rescue Challenge in Karlovac, Croatia.

For the past number of years, Ronan and Daniel have been taking part in rescue competitions across Ireland and internationally—testing their abilities in high-pressure, realistic rescue scenarios. These events push teams to the limit, and Ronan and Daniel have consistently stepped up, learning, adapting, and giving it their all every time.

They train hard, work even harder, and bring a mix of experience, calm under pressure, and solid friendship to every challenge they face. Whether it’s at the scene of an emergency or up against the clock in a simulated rescue, these two are all about staying sharp, staying focused, and getting the job done.

Now they’re taking everything they’ve learned to Croatia, proudly representing Carlow and Ireland on the global stage.

We are Laura and Marc. We are also part of the Extrication team and we have been competing together three years now.
Laura is a doctor in an ambulance and Marc is a firefighter. We like to compete together and learn as much as possible from eachother.

Team Neuburg is taking part in the WRC for the fifth time this year. Our previous stops have been South Africa, France, Luxembourg and Lanzarote.

We are very happy to be there again this year and to be able to represent our country – this fills us as a volunteer fire brigade with great pride.

We are particularly looking forward to the international exchange and the reunion with teams from all over the world.

Our team was formed in the year 2023 to compete in the 2nd Latin American Rescue Challenge, the first competition of this type that was celebrated in our country (Chile), in which we obtained the 4th place. We then competed in the 1st national rescue challenge placed the 1st place and last year the 2nd place in the 3rd Latin American RC that took place in Brazil.
We are all volunteers firefighters and rescue instructors from 4 different cities of the country, for what we value and appreciate very much the opportunities that we have to train together.
In addition, we have established a particular training modality, which consists of choosing small counties, in which offer rescue acknowledge by developing evolutions such as competence with the local rescuers, which has led to great acceptance.
We are happy, motivated and very anxious to be able to share a week with the best rescue teams in the world and learn from them.

Caçador Volunteer Fire Department -Trauma team Brazil

English: From September 9th to 14th, the World Trauma Challenge will take place in Karlovac, Croatia. For the third consecutive year, the Caçador Volunteer Fire Department will represent Brazil in the world’s largest firefighting competition.

The duo Cristiano and Furquim, current Brazilian champions, will represent Brazil and ABRES once again in the challenge. Training is taking place intensely at the fire department’s facilities, with a full focus on achieving the best possible result.

In addition to the Trauma challenge, the event also features the Vehicle Rescue category. In total, more than 600 firefighters from over 23 countries will participate, making the event the largest competition of its kind in the world.

Português: Nos dias 9 a 14 de setembro, ocorre em Karlovac, na Croácia, o Desafio Mundial de Trauma. Pelo terceiro ano consecutivo, o Corpo de Bombeiros Voluntários de Caçador representará o Brasil na maior competição de bombeiros do mundo.

A dupla Cristiano e Furquim, atual campeã brasileira, será a responsável por representar o Brasil e a ABRES mais uma vez no desafio. Os treinos estão acontecendo intensamente nas dependências da corporação, com foco total na busca pelo melhor resultado possível.

Além da prova de Trauma, o evento também conta com a modalidade de Resgate Veicular. No total, participam mais de 600 bombeiros de mais de 23 países, tornando o evento a maior competição do gênero no mundo.

TRT LX Trauma team – Luxembourg

Diogo and Ricardo – The TRT LX Team at the World Rescue Challenge 2025

Diogo
Diogo is a dedicated member of the TRT LX trauma team, bringing valuable experience in first aid and patient care. He has distinguished himself with his precise approach and calm demeanor in high-pressure situations. As part of the CGDIS (Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps), Diogo has handled numerous emergency responses and will be able to apply the skills he gains at the World Rescue Challenge directly to his daily work as a paramedic.

Ricardo
Ricardo will be taking part in the World Rescue Challenge for the first time in 2025, an international competition focused on first aid and the rapid and effective care of injured individuals. Despite this being his first time at the Challenge, Ricardo already has extensive experience as a paramedic with CGDIS. In this role, he has demonstrated his skills in patient care, and he looks forward to further developing his expertise during the competition. The knowledge gained will not only benefit him personally but will also enhance his daily operations on the job.


Diogo and Ricardo are both proud to represent TRT LX at the World Rescue Challenge. As members of CGDIS, they are excited to apply the knowledge and skills they gain during the Challenge directly to their emergency response work, ensuring the highest level of care for those in need.

Trauma Team Oeiras – Portugal

Trauma Team Oeiras was founded in 2023 and quickly established itself on the national trauma and rescue scene. In just two years of existence, it achieved 2nd place overall in the National Trauma Championships twice consecutively (2024 and 2025), securing its place among the best Portuguese teams. 
It has already participated in two World Championships, promoting Portugal’s reputation abroad. The team is comprised of two firefighters with extensive operational experience and solid technical training:
 • José Levita – Team leader, a firefighter for 10 years, with extensive training in trauma and rescue, recognized for his leadership, decision-making skills, and dedication to service.
• Pedro Malheiro – A volunteer firefighter for 20 years, with extensive practical experience treating trauma victims, a benchmark for his skill and commitment to his mission. Trauma Team Oeiras’ objective is clear:
to represent Portugal at the highest level, demonstrating technical excellence, teamwork and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement in pre-hospital care.

Ponte De Sor – Alfa – Portugal

Hello everyone, we come from Ponte de Sor. Our team is mainly made up of three elements, Telma Catarino, Nuno Cortinhas and CMDT Simao Velez, but we are representing the Firefighters of Ponte de Sor To our comrades who we owe the time and dedication that they gave to our evolution and all the management that allowed us to be here today.

Med Mais Trauma team – Brazil

The Brazilian Trauma Team is made up of Rafael Cordeiro and Matheus, professionals dedicated to pre-hospital care and highway rescue since 2019.

Both have training as a Rescuer and are Nursing Technicians, working daily in emergency situations in advanced support ambulances and also in rescue ambulances.

Currently, Matheus is in the undergraduate phase in Nursing, further expanding the technical capacity of the team.

The team’s competitive trajectory already has important achievements:

  • 3rd place in the National Championship of Developmental Trauma
  • 2nd place in the 2025 Latin American Trauma Championship

United by their passion for saving lives and their commitment to excellence in trauma care, Rafael and Matheus represent Brazil with dedication, professionalism and team spirit.

Our team is made up of two professionals from the Firefighters Corps of the Generalitat de Catalunya with solid experience in the field of emergencies and healthcare management.
On one hand, Nurse Mon Moreno, who combines his role as a firefighter nurse with his work as a professional in the Medical Emergency System (SEM), bringing a comprehensive vision to prehospital care. On the other hand, Sergeant Ivan Julià, who performs shift leader duties as well as coordinating interventions and providing operational leadership within the corps.
Both of us have extensive experience, having participated in several extrication competitions at the national and international levels, putting our skills to the test and continuously improving them.
Currently, we both work together at the GROS Cerdanyola fire station, located in the Northern Metropolitan Region, near Barcelona.
We participate in this Trauma World Championship with the goal of continuing to grow professionally, highlighting teamwork, and proudly representing our emergency services.

Founded in 2019, the SSUAP 80 (Emergency Rescue and Care for People) team proudly represents the Somme firefighters in national and international rescue and emergency care competitions.
Formed by Benoit ,  Mathieu and Romain, the team quickly became part of the French elite, ranking in the national Top 5 every year since its creation.
In 2019, it participated in the World Rescue Challenge in La Rochelle, a global event bringing together the best rescue teams. The year 2024 marks its peak: French Champion of the First Aid and Emergency Care Championship, the team confirms its technical excellence, its cohesion as well as its commitment.
Today, the SSUAP 80 team is a symbol of professionalism and passion, flying the flag for the Somme and France on all competition stages, with an impact on everyday professional practices.
