The WRC is not only a fantastic opportunity to develop the participant’s extrication and prehospital care skills, but also to meet like-minded people and make new friends. That’s why the WRO and the host go to great lengths to provide participants with enjoyable social events. Traditionally, the WRC begins with an opening ceremony at which the participating teams are introduced. The swap nights have become legendary, with participants exchanging team jerseys and other gadgets. The WRC ends with a closing ceremony, which normally takes the form of a festive banquet at which the prizes are awarded to the winning teams.
