Central School of State Fire Service – Pologne

The team of the Central School of the State Fire Service is not only a group of firefightersit’s a mix of experience, knowledge and personalities, that together create a team ready for any challenge. It consists of officers of three key departments: Rescue and Firefighting Operations, Éducation, and Technical. Their combination makes the team complete: one of them knows how to operate in the field, others convey knowledge to next generations and others try to keep the equipment reliable in every situation.

It’s a team that has won the title of Polish Champion in Technical Rescue competitions twiceit is not a coincidence. Regular training, participation in competitions and hundreds of hours of improving techniques mean that their operations are not only a routine but also a passion. Each of them has a long-standing experience but also a great sense of humor about themselves, becauseas they say“in our team there’s no soft game but there is always room for a good joke”.

Here is the lineup:

1. aspirant Bartosz Jędruszekthe heart of tactics and a walking encyclopedia of rescue. A graduate of the Central School of the State Fire Service in Czestochowa and the Fire University in Warsaw. For years, a driver at the school’s Firefighting and Rescue Unit and from 2024, a lecturer in rescue tactics. Double Polish Champion in Technical Rescue, paramedic, High Altitude Rescue instructor in National Firefighting and Rescue System, rescuer of Ministry of Internal Affairs and Water Volunteer Rescue Serviceand the list of his specializations could easily fill several pages. He has taken part in countless training sessions, while also organizing them, and at the same time he is able to convey knowledge in such a way that even the most difficult concepts become comprehensible. A person who always knows what to doand how to do it best.

2. captain Artur Kroguleca lecturer in rescue tactics at the Central School of the State Fire Service, a technique master, and a creative creator of film materials for the fire department. He graduated in safety engineering from the Main School of Fire Service in Warsaw and is also a Polish Champion in Technical Rescue. He is often behind the camera, documenting and creating content that inspires and educates other firefighters – but when needed, he swaps the camera for rescue equipment and acts without hesitation.

3. junior aspirant Grzegorz Miszczyk – commander of a platoon at the school Firefighting and Rescue Unit. A graduate of the CS PSP in Czestochowa and a passionate climber and cyclist in private life. Outside his PSP duties, he volunteers as a firefighter with the Volunteer Fire Department, showing that firefighting is more than just a job – it’s a lifestyle. A man who is not afraid of heights and keeps his head in every situation.

4. aspirant Robert Olszewski – a man who knows every piece of rescue equipment better than the manufacturer because he is its best tester himself. Associated with the uniform for many years – he started in 2005 as a soldier in the Polish Army, where he earned, among others, a parachutist’s badge. Depuis 2019, a firefighter with the PSP and a graduate of the CS PSP in Czestochowa, currently working in the Technical Department. Twice Polish Champion in Technical Rescue. If it has an engine, hydraulics, or even just a screw, Robert will start it, repair it, and make sure it works perfectly.

5. aspirant Adrian Ślusarczyk – a platoon commander with a heart for service and a man who cannot sit still. A firefighter through and through, a CS PSP graduate whose adventure with firefighting started much earlier. As a child, he joined the Volunteer Fire Department and instead of playing soldiers, he preferred running around the fire station, inhaling the smell of fire hoses and motor pump grease. Aujourd'hui, he is a board member of the Volunteer Fire Department and infects everyone around him with his energy. Adrian is also a man of modern technology – a drone operator who can assist in operations faster from the air with a camera than many patrols on the ground. But when it’s time to relax, Adrian swaps the firefighter’s helmet for a racing helmet. He races quad rallies, because as he says himself, “adrenaline is the second fuel of a firefighter.” The team jokes that he has two modes: “full throttle” and “sleep” – but hardly anyone has ever seen the second.

6. junior captain Olga Szymańskanew person on board of the CS PSP as lecturer of Rescue Equipment in the Education Department but not new to firefighting ranks. She was inspired by her older brother to take up firefighting who was a member of the Volunteer Firefighting Brigade, and as soon as she turned eighteen, she also joined the Volunteer Firefighting Brigade in her hometown. After that, it couldn’t have gone differently, so she decided to study at the Main School of Fire Service in Warsaw. During her studies, her passion turned out to be search and rescue operations. She contributed with friends to the creation of the study group “Search and Rescue Section”. Olga is a person who can’t sit still, so she spends her free time in every possible way to avoid staying at home. When somebody asks where Olga is, most likely she is running somewhere in the woods, hiking in the mountains, rollerblading or helping her brother on the farm. Like Adrian, when she comes home, she swaps her firefighting helmet for a motocross helmet and revs up the gas in her motocross bike. According to herit’s hard to keep up with her spontaneous ideas.

7. senior captain Piotr Goneraa lecturer in rescue tactics at the Central School of the State Fire Service. He has many years of service experience, especially in technical rescue, and has served as the commander of the award-winning CS PSP team. He is known not only for his high competence and professionalism but also for his exceptional personality. He is a person with a very positive attitude towards life and work – open to new challenges and innovations in the field of firefighter safety and training. He is recognized for his kindness, ability to work with young people, and support for the development of his colleagues. His enthusiasm, communication skills, and willingness to share knowledge make him not only a valued instructor but also someone who inspires others to constantly improve their qualifications and be open to new technologies and methods of operation.

Each of them is differentthey have varied interests, career paths and specializations. They are united by one thing: passion for saving lives and helping others. This is a team with charactersometimes they tease each other like brothers, other times they compete, but when the moment of truth comes, they act as one.

Their successes are built on experience, daily work, and hours of training, but also on the atmosphere they createfull of humour, energy and support. It’s not just about championships, contests or trophiesit is about being the best where human lives are at stake.
