Their skills in dealing with casualties at incidents are constantly being challenged.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the World Rescue Organisation (WRO) Trauma Challenge (TC) is to assist in the development of trauma related skills of firefighters and rescue workers to enable them to deal successfully with the vast range of casualty centered incidents.<\/p>\n<p>Participating teams will be assessed on their \u201clifesaving\u201d capabilities during\u00a0 trauma based scenarios. The WRO TC will focus on developing and promoting life support skills of rescue personnel, which will allow them to fill the therapeutic vacuum until further medical help arrives.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em><strong>Trauma Challenge *<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Trauma Standards<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The Trauma development group consists of established medical specialists with the remit of developing a standardised assessment methodology addressing the member organisations medical protocols in dealing with singular and multiple casualties.\u202f The group\u2019s primary aim is to raise awareness and competencies of emergency response departments to deal with the changing needs of complex medical emergencies.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">What is the goal of the trauma challenge?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p aria-level=\"4\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Firefighters, rescue workers and responders are increasingly being asked to deal with more challenging casualty related situations than ever before. Their skills in dealing with casualties at incidents are constantly being pushed to the extremes.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p aria-level=\"4\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">The World Rescue Organisation (WRO) Trauma Challenge (TC) <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is an elite global competition designed to enhance the trauma care skills of emergency responders. All other independent teams will secure a place subject to consideration of the WRO Executive Committee (WRO EC). The WRO EC will base the decision for participation upon key criteria which may include, but not be limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Where entry fees are submitted with application forms on a &#8216;first come&#8217; basis.<\/li>\n<li>Number of teams: maximum 36<\/li>\n<li>A balance between participating countries.<\/li>\n<li>The introduction of new countries, organisations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The decision of the WRO will be final although every effort will be made to accommodate as many as possible.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">This year The WRO would like to implement the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Trauma challenges -At the World Rescue Challenge, the Trauma Challenge scenarios are categorized into three levels; Standard, Complex and Triage.
