WRC 2011 Update

Following a conference call today between the WRO, ARRO and the UFBA, the following details are released;

As a result of initial assessments by the UFBA it is now felt that it will be highly unlikely that the World Challenge will take place in Christchurch. At this time we can confirm that the UFBA and ARRO remain committed to hosting this years challenge and are currently looking for alternative venues.

Immediate priorities for the UFBA and ARRO is to minimise the disruption to those planning to attend this years challenge as much as possible, as such they will be looking towards maintaining the planned dates were possible and options to minimise travel disruption.

Updates will be made circulated as and when they are available, please monitor the WRO and ARRO web sites.

It is recommended that those planning to attend should not make travel arrangements at this time. A further update will be provided as soon as more information is available.

Please circulate this message as widely as possible.

At this difficult time our thoughts remain with the people of Christchurch and our colleagues undertaking the challenging task of rescue and recovery.
