29/10/2009 New Member joins the WRO   At the recent World Rescue Organisation AGM, held in Frankfurt the WRO welcomed Rescue Organisation Ireland as level two members of the WRO. Rescue Organisation Ireland was congratulated by the Chairman of the WRO Dave Webb on their achievements to date. In 2007 the UKRO International Development Programme in association with Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service assisted with the development of ROI and over saw the establishment of its committee. From that point a programme of workshops, training days were established for teams and ROI assessors. In April 2009 ROI held its first national rescue challenge in Dublin. From this event the top three teams were assisted by ROI to attend other challenges. The 3rd place team traveled to Belfast for Northern Irelands Rescue Challenge, the second placed team traveled to Scotland to participate in the Scottish National Challenge with the first placed team competing at the World Rescue Challenge in Frankfurt earlier this month.   ROI is now working to level one membership.
